Older kids will have a blast making this infinity folded nativity puzzle. Once they are made, kids can change the scenes by gently pulling the puzzle part – and it just keeps going!

Each puzzle includes four different scenes.

Materials Needed for the Infinity Folded Nativity Puzzle:

  • Copies of the printable pages (These pages come in full color or black and white outline if your kids prefer to color their own. Also available in KJV, ESV, NIV, NKJV, or NASB – sign up to get your copies for free!)
  • Glue stick or tape (glue stick is easier for this craft)
  • Scissors
  • Crayons, markers, or colored pencils, if desired

Directions:

  • Cut out the large square on page 3 around the outer border. Cut the two rectangles out from the top of page 3. (See image below)
  • Cut the two rectangles out from the bottom of page 1.
  • Fold the large square in half. (See image below.) Unfold. Fold again along the same crease in the other direction. Unfold.
  • Rotate the square and fold in half at a 90 degree angle from the first fold (making a + shape as you fold). Unfold. Fold again along the same crease in the other direction. Unfold.
  • Turn the square over so that the shepherds and angels / manger scene is facing up. Fold the bottom edge of the square up along the line between the star and the manger scene, so that the bottom of the page is touching the middle folded line. Fold, unfold, reverse, fold and unfold. Repeat with every side, for three more creases.
  • Fold the page in half and cut into the middle of the white inner square. Unfold and cut out the inner white square. Throw the inner white square away.
  • Turn the square over and and glue the rectangles (tree, fire, wise men, and verse) to the square, matching the outer edges. Use the faded images on the back to help you know where to put the rectangles. If the faded image is upside down, put the rectangle upside down.
  • Turn so that the angels / shepherds and manger scene is up. Fold over so that the stars in the left bottom touch each other. Tape or glue the stars to each other.
  • Fold the top right of the square over so that the bells touch each other. Glue or tape them together.
  • This is what you should now see.
  • Flip the image over. Fold the bottom left corner so that the two ornaments are touching each other. Glue or tape them together.
  • In the top right corner, fold so that the holly leaves are touching each other. Glue or tape them together.
  • This is what you should now see.
  • Flip the puzzle over and you will see the correct scene with the angels and shepherds.
  • Grasp the top right rectangle from the inside and the bottom left rectangle from the inside and gently pull the scene apart and backwards. The manger scene will pop open. Pull the manger scene back from the inside top right and left bottom. The wise men scene will shop up. Repeat with each scene.
